NYU Finishes Second at MIT Invitational

The New York University men's swimming & diving team finished second out of five teams at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Winter Invitational, which was held Friday-Sunday, December 2-4, in Cambridge, MA.

The Violets accumulated 1,372 points over the course of the meet, 319 behind the host Engineers. Third-place Tufts University finished with 1,044 points.

Joe Del Buono won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 49.75. The sophomore also anchored the second-place 200-yard medley relay squad (1:31.36), which included Chad Moody, Tim Kou and Daniel Tay.

"We had an excellent meet this weekend and I am extremely proud of their performance," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "The team has worked hard from day one and it was great to see them swim so well."

The team returns to action on January 13 when they host Johns Hopkins University and MIT for a meet at the Palladium Athletic Facility beginning at 3:00 pm.
