The New York University men's swimming & diving team is in third place out of eight teams after day two of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships, which are being held Wednesday-Saturday, February 8-11, at the University of Chicago in Chicago, IL.

The Violets currently sit third with 339 points, trailing second-place Washington University in St. Louis by 96 points. Emory University leads with 596 points.

Ian Rainey took second place in the 500-yard freestyle in a NCAA-qualifying time of 4:28.54. In the 200-yard IM, Tim Kou also posted a NCAA-qualifying time of 1:51.26, finishing in third place.

"I was very pleased with our performance today," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "We got off to a great start."
