Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Mitchell Riek (Sunland, Calif./Bishop Alemany) returned to the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships for the second year and once again turned in an All-America performance.
Riek swam in the first event of the meet when he finished in the top eight in the 500-yard freestyle during the morning preliminaries.
In the evening finals, the sophomore touched sixth in a season-best time of 4:28.87 to earn the fourth All-America honor of his career. Last year, Riek was ninth in the same event.
