Several Multiple Winners Lead Yellowjackets Over Alfred and Fredonia

Elliot Schwinn was a triple winner while Lee Stovall and Eric Feirouz posted two individual victories apiece as Rochester's men's swimming and diving team seized victories over SUNY  Fredonia and Alfred University on Saturday at Alfred. 

The Yellowjackets boosted their dual meet record to 5-1 after defeated Fredonia, 199-99, and then downing Alfred, 216-75. Rochester returns to the water next weekend in a four-team meet at Grove City College in Pennsylvania.

There were five other individual winners for the Yellowjackets: Eric Weidman, Arlen Fan, Evan Villafranca, A.J. Brewer, and Nolan Kearns.

Stephen Savchik was second on the one meter board for Rochester (245.90) and third on the three meter board (235.40).

In three events, Rochester had the first two finishers. In the 100 free, the Yellowjackets had the first three to the wall. Brewer won (:50.09), followed by Danny Aronson (:50.28), and Paul Steve (:51.22).

Schwinn grabbed first place honors in the 200 fly (2:02.88), the 200 backstroke (2:04.63), and the 200 IM (2:04.23). Stovall won the 200 free (1:49.56) and the 100 fly (:54.89). Feirouz was first in the 100 back (:55.01) and the 500 free (4:54.89) with Eric Sonheim second (5:02.26).

Jon Schubert was second to Schwinn (2:06.19) in the 200 fly. Sonheim was second (:22.56) to Villafranca in the 50 free (:22.55). Kearns took first place in the 200 breast (2:17.27).

The 200 medley relay opened with a victory in 1:39.02 (Feirouz, Fan, Brewer, Villafranca). The 200 free relay (Brewer, Aronson, Sonheim, Villafranca) won in 1:29.19.
