Rochester freshman Stephen Savchik finished in 14th place out of 18 divers in his first appearance at the NCAA Division III Zone Diving Championships being hosted by Ithaca College.
He recorded a score of 398.45 for 11 dives on the one meter board. The two-day event continues on Saturday with the men's three-meter board and the women's one-meter board. The highest finishers among divers advance to the NCAA Division III Championship Meet in Shenandoah, Texas in March.
