Washington University Earns 19 CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

The Washington University in St. Louis men's and women's swimming and diving teams had 19 student-athletes earn 2017 College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America honors.

CSCAA Executive Director Joel Shinofield noted: "Coach Shively has shown at WashU how you can balance excellence in the classroom and the pool."  He added, "We are very fortunate to have schools like WashU and people like Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton and Interim Athletic Director Chris Peacock who support these exceptional student-athletes."

The men's team had 12 honorees earn Scholar All-American recognition, including seniors Andrew Ellison, Michael Lagieski and Justin Morrell; freshmen Chase Van Patten and Peyton Wilson with first-team honors. In addition, seniors Reese Frerichs and Jacob Nason; junior Landon Bennett; sophomores Max Cardwell and Jordan Wheeler; and freshmen Alex Bird and Andrew Oh were recognized as CSCAA Scholar All-America Honorable Mentions.
