Senior Bears Lead Washington University to Victory

The Washington University in St. Louis men's swimming and diving team enjoyed multiple victories to cap off the careers of its seniors at the I. E. Millstone Pool on Saturday afternoon against Western Illinois University.

The men worked their way to a 175-105 victory and nine first place finishes in 16 competitions. 

Seniors Andrew Ellison, Michael Lagieski, Justin Morrell and Reese Frerichs won four of the nine events for the men's program. Ellison won the 200 free (1:45.27), Lagieski won the 100 breaststroke (56.36), Morrell won the 50 free (21.75) and Frerichs won the 200 breaststroke (2:07.51). 

Junior Jaron Cook and sophomore Jordan Wheeler swam to season-best times in the 1,000 free and 100 backstroke. Cook's time of 10:15.69 was second to freshman Cal Reynolds (10:08.34). Wheeler finished with a season best in the 100 backstroke (53.26) behind freshman Peyton Wilson (52.95).
