Andrew Pek of Washington University Earns UAA Title on Third Day of UAA Championships

Sophomore Andrew Pek earned the University Athletic Association (UAA) Title in the 100 butterfly with a time of 48.74 as the Bears men remain in second place on the third day of the UAA Championships after Friday evening's events. 

Finishing behind Pek in the 100 fly was sophomore Brandon Lum with a B-cut time of 49.72. Freshman Peyton Wilson placed second in the 100 backstroke with a 2016 qualifying time of 49.50. Wilson's time was a career-best as he reset the WashU school record for the second time this season.

Senior Michael Lagieski finished third in the 100 breaststroke (54.70) while Simon Deshussesfinished the "B" finals with a B-cut time (56.59). Sophomore Jordan Wheeler swam to a 2016 qualifying time and third place finish in the 400 individual medley (3:59.07). 

Wilson, Lagieski, Pek and Ross Brown placed third in the 200 medley relay with a B-cut time (1:30.74).

3rd – 400 IM – Jordan Wheeler – 3:59.07 (2016 Qualifying time, Career-Best)

3rd – 200 Medley Relay – Peyton Wilson, Michael Lagieski, Andrew Pek, Ross Brown – 1:30.74 (B-cut)

9th – 100 BR – Simon Deshusses – 56.59 (B-cut, Career-Best)
