The Washington University in St. Louis men's swimming and diving program defeated University of Chicago, 173-115, on Saturday evening.
The Bears scored 85 points on first place finishes as the team's depth provided the separation.
Sophomore Brandon Lum led the men's side with 18 points scored on first place finishes in the 100 and 200 butterfly with 51.30 and 1:53.1 times. Junior Ross Brown was victorious in the 50 freestyle (21.4) while anchoring first place finishes in both the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay.
Brown was joined by Jerry Chen, Michael Lagieski and Andrew Pek in the medley victory with a time of 1:33.05. Chase Van Patten, Justin Morrell, Lagieski and Brown finished the 200 freestyle relay in 1:24.82.
Lagieski placed first in the 100 breaststroke (56.85) while Van Patten added a win in the 200 freestyle (1:42.52). Freshman Peyton Wilson secured first place in the 100 backstroke (52.23). Junior Ryan Nathenson earned first in the one-meter dive with a 241.35 score.
