Brandeis Tops Hartwick, 156-132

The Brandeis men's swimming and diving team defeated Hartwick College, 156-132, in a dual meet.

There were three multiple winners in individual events for the Judges. For the men, rookie Richard Selznick (Las Vegas, Nev./Palos Verde)continued his fine campaign with distance freestyle wins in the 1000, where his time of 10:22.14 was 21 seconds faster than the runner-up, and in the 500, where he defeated his closest opponent by almost six seconds with a time of 5:00.81. Also for the men, senior Sam Zucker (Omaha, Neb./Anderon) earned top marks in both diving events, taking the 1-meter with a score 170.70 and the 3-meter with a total of 184.85.

The closest race of the day was won by rookie Daniel Wohl (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill East), who took the 200-yard freestyle in 1:48.74, winning by just one-hundredth of a second over Hartwick's Ryan McLaughlin. Wohl was also runner-up in the 100 breaststroke and 100 IM.

Three other individual winners for the men were sophomore Tamir Zitelny (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset), who took the 100-yard butterfly in 54.15 seconds, nearly two seconds faster than the runner-up; rookie Chase Chen (Villanova, Pa./The Hill School) in the 100 freestyle with a time of 49.77 seconds; and sophomore Daniel Haid (Robbins, N.C. / International School of Lausanne).
