At the 2018 University Athletic Association championships at Emory University, the Brandeis University men's swimming and diving team recorded two all-time top-10 performances and several personal-bests.
TOP 10 TIMES
- Rookie Richard Selznick (Las Vegas, Nev. / Palos Verde) also reached the finals session in the 500-yard freestyle, with a time of 4:44.67, good for 24th place at the meet and third all-time on the Judges' career list. In the finals, he lowered that time to 4:42.34, improving to 20th place at the meet and second all-time behind record holder Max Fabian '15 by less than a second.
- Classmate Daniel Wohl (Chapel Hill, N.C. / East Chapel Hill) also had a top time in the 50 free, earning the fifth spot on the men's list with a mark of 21.78 seconds. He finished in 30th place, 0.16 seconds out of the finals.

- Five other Judges posted personal-best times at the meet.
- Tom Alger (Plymouth, Mass. / Sacred Heart) – 22.79 seconds in 50 free (leading off 200 free relay)
- Marcelo Ohno-Machado (San Diego, Calif. / Torrey Pines) – 22.36 seconds in men's 50 free
- Taku Harada (Henrico, Va. / Mills E. Godwin) – 2:01.09 in 200 IM
- Benjamin Francis (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Brooklyn Friends School) – 2:04.50 in 200 IM
- Tyr Hondorf (Oak Ridge, Tenn. / Oak Ridge) – 5:09.97 in 500 free
RELAY HIGHLIGHTS
- The men had their 200 free relay finish in sixth place in the finals, as the team of sophomore Tamir Zitelny (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset), Wohl, Ohno-Machado and fellow first-year Chase Chen (Villanova, Penn. / The Hill School) turned in a time of 1:25.66 in the finals, half a second ahead of Rochester and a full second ahead of Case Western Reserve. The time was the fastest under head coach Mike Kotch in the event and 0.25 seconds off the school record set in 2005.
