Carnegie Mellon Freestyle Relay Sets School Record at Kenyon Fast Chance Meet

Members of the Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team traveled to Kenyon College for the Kenyon Fast Chance Meet on Saturday, February 24.

Junior Winston Chu (Warren, N.J. / Saint Peter's Prep) bettered his season time in the 100-yard breaststroke when he touched in 55.64. His time is now 17th best in the nation and he'll wait to hear about a bid to the NCAA Championships next week.

The men's 200-yard freestyle relay of freshman Justin Britton (Falls Church, Va. / George Mason), freshman Max Gonzalez (Allison Park, Pa. / North Allegheny), sophomore Richard Deng (West Windsor, N.J. / West Windsor Plainsboro South), and sophomore Sam Hawke (Malvern, Pa. / Episcopal Academy) topped their own school record set at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships when they finished in 1:23.16.
