Maroons Win Phoenix Fall Classic

The University of Chicago men's swimming and diving team concluded its three-day Phoenix Fall Classic by finishing atop the standings on Sunday.

The Maroon men won the 12-team meet with 1,097 points. DePauw University was runner-up with 642 points. 

The men's 200-yard breaststroke was chock full of big performances. A trio of Maroons achieved NCAA B-cuts in the event – sophomore Lance Culjat (2:02.10), sophomore Reona Yamaguchi (2:02.37) and first-year Alexander Qu (2:02.47). The 100-yard butterfly had one NCAA B-cut with junior Michael Todd (49.43).
