It was a strong night on the diving boards for the Yellowjacket divers at a quad meet hosted at Case Western Reserve University, kicking off a two-day competition with the host Spartans, Gannon University and Grove City College.
Men's diver Stephen Savchik earned top honors on both the 1 and 3-meter boards, earning an NCAA Zone qualifying score on each, his first of the season. He was first on the 3-meter with a score of 298.20, and also won the 1-meter event with a score of 282.95. Savchik's score on the three meter was a personal best for the event.
In the women's competition, the Yellowjackets had two entries in Paige Hayward and Jenna Zhang. Zhang finished as runner-up on the 3-meter board with a six-dive score of 194.75, while Hayward was third with 194.60. That score was Zhang's top in the event of her career.
On the 1-meter board, Hayward finished in third place with a score of 203.65, while Zhang ended in fifth with a tally of 167.30.
