Rochester Honors Seniors at Final Dual Meet of Season

Rochester's men's swimming and diving team competed in their final dual meet this weekend, beginning on Friday evening and finishing up Saturday afternoon.
 
The Yellowjackets ran in to a strong SUNY Geneseo team on day one, and day two was more of the same. UR was able to come out with one first place finish and a handful of second and third place finishes, but fell short on the scoreboard 82-259.
 
Eric Chang had the lone victory for Rochester in the two-day event. Chang came in first place in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:58.87.   Chang also had a third place finish in day one.
 
Second place finishers included Eric Sonheim, Eric Weidman and Arlen Fan. Sonheim was runner up in the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.96.  Weidman came in second in the 500 freestyle in 4:54.10 and Fan placed second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:14.54.
 
Miles Markey, Evan Villafranca John Shubert and Eric Feirouz all had third place finishes in their events. Markey was third in the 400 IM with a time of 4:25.05 while Villafranca had a third place finish in the 50 freestyle in 22.17. Shubert was third in the 200 butterfly in 2:01.85 and Feirouz had a third place finish in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:01.69.
 
Two separate relay teams were able to place second. The 400 medley relay team consisting of Chang, Fan, Lee Stovall and Danny Aronson was second to the wall with a time of 3:35.65. In the final event of the day the 200 freestyle relay team was able to out touch Geneseo for a second place finish. Villafranca, Aronson, Eric Rosenkranz and Stovall had a time of 1:28.36.
 
Before the meet, Seniors Fan, Stovall, Rosenkranz, Alin Kenworthy and Dan Myers were honored for their achievements as Yellowjackets.
