Yellowjackets Record Three Top-10 Finishes On Day One of Bomber Invitational

Twelve individuals and one relay scored for the University of Rochester men's swimming and diving team on day one of the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational on Friday evening at the Ithaca Aquatic Center.
 
Rochester as a team accumulated 179 team points on the day and sits in 4th place among 10 teams in the championship format invitational.  Division I Cornell leads the pack with 598.5 points, SUNY Geneseo is second with 322 and Nazareth is third with 206.5 points.
 
Rochester's top finish on the day was in the 200 medley relay which scored in 5th place after a time of 1:36.09.  That quartet was made up of Connor Virgile, Arlen Fan, Josh Allon and Danny Aronson.
 
The top individual performance was in the 1 meter diving event where Max Adler finished in 6th place, earning 24 team points with his score of 387.10.
 
Elliot Schwinn led four Yellowjacket scorers in the 500 freestyle, touching the wall in 4:48.98, god for 8th place.  Teammates Eric Sonheim and Eric Weidman finished in 11th and 12th respectively in 4:49.61 and 4:50.31 while 15th place went to Eric Feirouz who posted a time of 4:51.40.
 
First-year Eric Chang finished in 15th place in the 200 individual medley, again leading four Rochester scorers.  Chang's time was 1:59.29.  Virgile placed 17th (2:00.79), Fan 18th (2:01.52) and Miles Markey was 20th (2:02.72).
 
In the 50 freestyle, the Yellowjackets had three finishers, all within four places of one another.  Allon was 21st in 21.78 seconds, Evan Villafranca placed 23rd in 21.92 seconds and Aronson finished in 24th with a time of 21.95 seconds.
