Rochester Sits Seventh After Three Days at UAA Championships

The UR men had multiple finishers advance to the finals on day three of the UAA Championship, hosted by Emory University in Atlanta.  After three days of competition, the Yellowjackets sit in 7th place of eight teams, with 392 points.
 
The Yellowjackets top individual finisher was Connor Virgile who placed 11th in the 100 backstroke in a time of 51.74 seconds.  He qualified for the B final with a prelim time of 52.09.

Eric Sonheim achieved a 16thplace finish in the 200 freestyle after qualifying in 15th in the prelims. He swam to a time of 1:42.63 early on Friday and ended with a 1:43.51 in the finals. After qualifying 23rd in the prelims, Eric Feirouz improved by four places in the finals of the 200 free, clocking in at 1:43.59, over a second faster than his prelim time of 1:44.75.
  
Miles Markey was able to advance in both the 100 breaststroke and the 400 IM. In the breaststroke, Markey finished in 22nd place in 1:01.57, matching his result in the prelims. He also placed 24th in the 400 IM with a time of 4:16.37.

Elliot Schwinn also scored for the 'Jackets in the 400 IM, ending in 17th place in 4:08.45, improving on his prelim time by over two seconds (4:10.87).
 
Arlen Fan took 17th place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.75, lowering his time from the morning prelims.
 
Two UR relays also competed.  The 200 medley relay squad of Virgile, Fan, Paul Steve and Danny Aronson finished in 7th place in 1:36.08.  UR's 800 freestyle relay team of Lee Stovall, Eric Chang, Sonheim and Feirouz ended 8th in 7:02.57.
