The Washington University in St. Louis men's swimming and diving program began the 2017-18 season at the Show-Me-Showdown, placing fourth Friday evening at the event hosted by Division I Missouri at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.
The Bears totaled 11 top-10 times highlighted by junior Brandon Lum, sophomore Jerry Chen and freshman Seth Ritter fifth place finishes. Lum placed fifth in the 100 butterfly (50.06), Chen fifth in the 100 backstroke (51.59) and Ritter fifth in the 500 free (4:38.88).
Senior diver Ryan Nathenson also placed in the top ten during the one-meter dive (4th – 223.20) and the three-meter dive (9th – 208.10).
