From NYU Athletics
Steven Wu of the New York University men's
tennis team was featured in the Courier News on
Tuesday, April 13.
The senior co-captain was highlighted due to his success as a
tennis player on the court, as well as his accolades as a student
in NYU's prestigious Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
Wu, who finished the regular season ranked #2 in the Northeast
Region and #24 in the Nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis
Association (ITA), compiled a 17-2 record for NYU. All of his
matches this past spring came at #1 singles, where he had much
success. Due to his victories over other top players in the
Northeast, as well as the rest of the Nation, Wu will be the
first Violet to compete in the NCAA Division III
Singles Championship since 2002.
Off the court, the Hillsborough, NJ, native maintained a 3.9
grade-point-average as a double major in finance and actuarial
science and a double minor in mathematics and computer science. For
his continued success as a student-athlete, Wu was recently honored
by NYU at the Student Athlete Academic Achievement Awards ceremony,
which recognizes academically outstanding students who have
participated on a varsity sport for at least two seasons.
The 5-foot-11 senior will complete his collegiate career at the
NCAA's hosted by Claremont-Mudd Scripps College at the Biszantz
Family Tennis Center in Claremont, CA, from May 22-24.
