The University of Chicago men's tennis team ended up in fifth place at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship with a 7-2 victory over New York University on Saturday.

The Maroons went on to win the bottom four singles matches, including three-set wins by freshman Brian Sun at No. 4 and freshman Max Hawkins at No. 6. UChicago got singles and doubles victories from Hawkins and juniorAnkur Bhargava.

"Coach Gray and I are extremely happy with the progress the team has made this year," said Head Coach Jay Tee. "We are playing our best tennis at the end of the season and it showed in the way we played the last two days, especially in going 6-0 in doubles. Our seniors, Krish and Zsolt, did a wonderful job of setting a great example for the younger guys and we will miss them. Looking forward to next year, we have an incredible group returning and combined with the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation, the future is very bright for UChicago tennis."
