No. 9 Carnegie Mellon Wins at Washington and Lee, 6-3

 The ninth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team traveled south to Washington and Lee University for a regional match up with the Generals, winning on the road 6-3. The Tartans improve to 10-6 on the season.

The Tartans got wins at second and third doubles to hold a 2-1 lead before singles play began. Senior Bryce Beisswanger (Los Angeles, Calif./Viewpoint School) and junior Yuvraj Kumar (New Delhi, India/Millfield School) won 8-5 in the second position while the sophomore pair of Kenny Zheng (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) and Kunal Wadwani (Saratoga, Calif./Bellarmine College Prep) won 8-0 in the third position.

Senior Christian Heaney-Secord (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) won his second singles match, 6-3, 6-1, while senior Will Duncan (Newbury Park, Calif./Newbury Park) won at fourth singles 6-2, 6-3. Sophomore Kiril Kirkov (Tampa, Fla./C. Leon King) picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win at fifth singles while Zheng returned to win 6-4, 7-6(7-4) at sixth singles.
