Ian Combemale of the New York University men's tennis team was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Rookie of the Week on Wednesday, April 15.

The freshman from Bridgehampton, NY, helped lead NYU to a pair of victories over the weekend. The Violets defeated Vassar College 8-1 at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx on Saturday, April 11, followed by a 7-2 win over the United States Coast Guard Academy on Sunday, April 12, at the U.S. Tennis Center in Flushing.

Combemale posted a 3-1 individual record during the two matches. He was 2-0 against the Brewers on Saturday, winning at #1 doubles (8-6) and #3 singles (6-3, 6-4) and then picked up a win at #2 singles (6-1, 6-1) on Sunday against Coast Guard.

This is the rookie's second ECAC honor of the season.
