The No. 10-ranked University of Chicago men's tennis team extended its win streak to six-straight matches in a 7-2 win at No. 26-ranked DePauw University on Sunday.

The Maroons improved to 8-2 and the Tigers fell to 4-5.

UChicago trailed after doubles for the first time in nine matches as DePauw captured the top two doubles spots. Sophomore Sven Kranz and senior Ankur Bhargava won their No. 3 doubles match 8-3.

The Maroons shrugged off the deficit and swept through all six singles matches. Senior Deepak Sabada and freshman Michael Selin both rallied back from one-set down to win in three sets at No. 2 and No. 6 singles, respectively. The other singles winners included Kranz, freshman Luke Tsai, freshman Peter Leung and freshman David Liu. UChicago has won all six singles on five different occasions this year.

"Doubles weren't great for us today, but I'm pleased with how we responded in singles," Head Coach Jay Tee said. "It was the first time we've been down after doubles since DePaul and we were without our normal No. 1 singles player, so for us to come out and sweep singles was a great display of mental toughness. We will continue to work hard in doubles this week before we take a break for finals then travel out to LA for our spring training trip."
