Washington Defeats Carnegie Mellon to Earn 10th Consecutive Trip to UAA Men's Tennis Championship Final

For the 10th-straight season and the 20th time in school history, the Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team will play for the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship.

The No. 2 seed Bears used a doubles sweep to get past No. 3 seed Carnegie Mellon University 7-2 in the semifinals of the 2015 University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Tennis Championship Saturday afternoon at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

Fifth-ranked Washington U. extended its winning streak to six matches and improved to 18-4, 2-0 in the UAA, while No. 10-ranked Carnegie Mellon fell to 15-8, 1-1 in the UAA.

• Senior Ross Putterman had two wins Saturday to up his career total to 150, the seventh player in school history to achieve the feat.
• Juniors Josh Cogan and Tyler Kratky improved to 3-0 at No. 3 doubles.
• Senior Kevin Chu has won eight-straight singles matches and is 9-1 in the last 10.
• Freshman Jason Haugen and Chu won their sixth-straight match at No. 2 doubles to improve to 16-5.
• The Bears are 20-2 at No. 4 and No. 6 singles this season.
• Sophomore Jeremy Bush's singles win was his 75th overall victory of his career.
• Chu's two wins upped his career total to 111, 14th most in school history.
• Junior Josh Cogan's doubles win was the 50th overall victory of his career.
