#7 CWRU Receives NCAA Tournament Bid; Will Host First Three Rounds

The seventh-ranked Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team has received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championships, and will host the first three rounds of the tournament at the Carlton Courts in Cleveland, Ohio from Friday, May 13th through Sunday, May 15th.

The Spartans finished the regular season with an overall record of 21-7, one win shy of the program's single-season record.  Case Western Reserve will receive a first-round bye, before facing the winner of the first-round match between Franciscan (11-9) and Grove City (9-8) on Friday in the second round on Saturday.

On the other side of the draw at Case Western Reserve, 35th-ranked Kalamazoo (17-4) will take on Messiah (13-6) in the first round on Friday, with the winner facing the second-seeded team in the draw in the second round, 17th-ranked Kenyon (12-9) on Saturday.  The winners of the second round matches will play in the third round on Sunday for the right to advance to the NCAA Division III Championship Quarterfinals in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Specific times for the matches, along with any additional information, will be announced on athletics.case.edu once finalized.

This is the Spartans' third NCAA Tournament appearance in the program's history.  The team previous reached the round of 16 in 2013, and the round of eight in 2014.
