CJ Krimbill Leads No. 14 Spartans to a 5-0 Victory Over No. 22 N.C. Wesleyan

With wins in both doubles and singles matches from senior CJ Krimbill, the No. 14 Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team outscored No. 22 North Carolina Wesleyan by a score of 5-0 on Sunday afternoon in Gambier, Ohio.

The Spartans are now 6-1 overall, while N.C. Wesleyan dropped to a 2-5 mark.

Krimbill and his doubles partner, senior Louis Stuerke, brought in an 8-4 win over Sebastian Sikh and Peter Hviid at first doubles. Second doubles junior Freddy Daum and freshman John Benedetto outscored Ioannis Brokakis and Mikhail Konnov, 8-5. Sweeping the doubles matches, the No. 3 doubles team of juniors James Fojtasek and Phil Gruber won their match against David Chang and Sebastian Wiiala, 8-1.

The Spartans secure the victory with wins at first singles and fifth singles. Krimbill scored a second point of the day for CWRU with a win at No. 1 singles against Sebastian Sikh. Krimbill won the first set 6-3, but Sikh tied up the match winning the second set by 6-3. Krimbill came back in the third to outscore his opponent 6-1 for the win. At fifth singles, junior Kevin Dong defeated Eduardo Ugalde in straight sets by scores of 6-4, 6-4.
