The No. 5-ranked Emory men's tennis team came through with a victory over Carnegie Mellon in the semifinals of the ITA National Indoor Championships in Cleveland, Ohio, on Saturday.  The Eagles raised their spring record to 3-2 following a 6-3 triumph over the No. 11 Tartans who fell to 5-3.

Emory had to rally for the win as CMU held a 2-1 match lead following doubles.  Picking up the Eagles' point in doubles was the No. 3 team of sophomore David Omsky and freshman Andrew Harrington, 8-5, over Abhishek Alla and Yuvraj Kumar.

Emory regrouped and used stellar play by its singles lineup in advancing to Sunday's championship.  Junior Aman Manji's 6-1, 6-0 win over Kenny Zheng at No. 3 knotted the score, and senior Rafe Mosetick gave the Eagles the lead for good with his 6-2, 6-3, outcome over Alla at No. 1. Freshman Adrien Bouchet was victorious at the No. 4 position, besting Vayum Arora, 6-2, 7-5, setting the stage for junior Josh Goodman to seal the verdict in Emory's favor with a 6-1, 7-6 win against Kiril Kirkov at No. 5.  Freshman Jonathan Jemison registered the final Emory point of the afternoon, upping his overall record to 13-2 (4-0 dual) with a three-set thriller vs. Daniel Levine, 6-7, 6-4, 10-7.

Emory, the No. 3 seed, will face fellow University Athletic Association foe and No. 4 seed Chicago (# 6 national rank) in the title match that is slated for a 9:00 am start. The Maroons advanced after defeating host Case Western Reserve University in the semifinals.
