NYU Tops Vassar For First Dual Match Victory

From NYU Athletics

The New York University men's tennis team defeated Vassar College by a score of 6-3 on Sunday, March 6, at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx, NY.

The Violets swept their three doubles matches and split the six singles contests. NYU is now 1-2 in its dual matches, while the Brewers are 4-5.

Matt DeMichiel and Yanik Parsch led the way for NYU. Both players breezed to straight-set victories at #5 and #6 singles, respectively, and each topped their opponents 6-0 in decisive second sets. The duo also teamed up at third doubles and cruised to an 8-3 victory.

"The men were able to build on some positive play from their previous match," said Head Coach Horace Choy. "Sweeping doubles was very important, and solid play from Samuel Khoshbin, Matt, and Yanik closed out the match."
