Emory University senior Rafe Mosetick battled his way to the USTA/ITA South Region Singles Championship Sunday afternoon in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Mosetick, the No. 2 seed, defeated No. 3 seed and freshman teammate, Jonathan Jemison in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0, marking the third straight year and ninth time in the past 10 seasons that an Emory player has won the singles title. Earlier in the day, Mosetick, who advanced to the semifinals in last year's event, upended North Carolina Wesleyan's Sebastian Sikh in the semis.

Jemison punched his ticket to the finals by virtue of a victory over the No. 1 seed, C.J. Antonio of Oglethorpe University, 7-6, 6-1.

Moseticks's first-place effort enables him to earn All-America honors for the 2015-16 campaign and propels him into the ITA Small College Championships, Oct. 15-18, in Sumter, South Carolina.

In the doubles final, the Sewanee tandem of Eric Roddy and Jack Gray came away with a 9-7 outcome over the Eagles' team of Jemison and Adrien Bouchet.
