Bears Complete Play in USTA/ITA Central Regional

The Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team hosted the 2015 USTA/ITA Division III Central Regional Friday-Sunday at Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park.

This marked the third time in the last 10 years WashU has hosted the Central Regional, also serving as host in 2006 and 2011. The USTA/ITA Central Regional consisted of 34 schools and more than 300 student-athletes.

WashU had seven student-athletes reach the round of 32 in singles and two doubles teams in the round of 16.

Sophomore Shaun Berman, junior Jeremy Bush, sophomore Jason Haugen, sophomore Jake Klein, freshman Konrad Kozlowski, freshman Radha Vishnubhotla and sophomore Johnny Wu all advanced to the round of 32 singles.

Berman, Klein and Kozlowski were all unseeded and took down seeded players en route to the round of 32. Berman had the biggest win for the Bears, ousting No. 9 seed Titas Beras of the College of Wooster in the first round 6-4, 6-4.

In doubles, No. 3 seed Bush and Kozlowski and No. 10 seed Haugen and sophomore Johnny Wu posted a 2-1 record before bowing out in the round of 16.
