From Emory University Athletics

Emory University senior Aman Manji battled his way to the D-III Singles title at the ITA Oracle Cup Saturday afternoon. The Oracle Cup is being held at the Surprise Tennis Center in Surprise, Arizona.

Manji, the No. 4 seed, defeated unseeded Lubomir Cuba of Middlebury College, in a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 slugfest, raising his fall record to 9-0.  With the score tied at 5-5 in the decisive third set, Manji found himself down 0-30 before roaring back to break Cuba for a 6-5 lead. He then held serve to close out the match.

Manji becomes just the second Emory player and third ITA Division III champion in program annals, joining Dillon Pottish in the exclusive club.  Pottish captured back-to-back crowns in 2010 and 2011.
