The No. 7 Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team extended its win streak to three with a 7-2 victory against No. 29 Swarthmore College on Saturday, March 11 in Claremont, California, on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
The Tartans swept doubles play the number two pair of junior Jeffrey Chen (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) and sophomore Chaz Downing (Newport Beach, Calif./Corona Del Mar) winning first, 8-1.
Senior Kiril Kirkov (Tampa, Fla./C. Leon King) earned the first victory in singles play when he won, 6-2, 6-3, in the sixth slot.
Securing the match win was senior Kenny Zheng (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) at number three singles. Zheng won, 6-1, 6-2.
