The Emory men's tennis team has advanced to the finals of the University Athletic Association Championships following a Saturday afternoon win over Carnegie Mellon in the semifinal round.  The No. 2-ranked Eagles won for the eighth straight time and raised their overall record to 16-4 (2-0 UAA) following a 6-3 triumph over the No. 7 Tartans who slipped to 16-8 overall.

Emory faced a 2-1 deficit after doubles with the No. 3 tandem of junior David Omsky and sophomore Jonathan Jemison accounting for the first point of the contest and the Eagles' lone point of doubles with an 8-1 triumph over Michael Rozenvasser and Kenny Zheng.

The Eagles regrouped quickly in singles, winning five of the six matches.  At No. 2, Jemison's 6-1, 6-3 victory over Rozenvasser knotted the match score and boosted his spring record to 16-4.  Senior Aman Manji's 7-6, 6-0 outcome over Daniel Levine gave Emory the lead for good and improved his record to 16-4. Sophomore Adrien Bouchet won for the 11th time in 16 decisions this spring with his 6-3, 6-3 verdict over Chaz Downing providing the Eagles with a 4-2 edge.  Senior Josh Goodman came through with the clinching point at No. 5 with a 6-2, 6-3 triumph against Vayum Arora that represented his 11th straight and 14th win vs. three defeats this spring.  At six singles, junior Scott Rubinstein accounted for the team's last point, getting the better of Kiril Kirkov in three sets..
