Emory Maintains Dominance At ITA Region Championships

The Emory men's tennis team continued its strong play on the second day of the ITA Region Championships.  Serving as the host site is the University of the South.

Emory claims three of the four competitors in the semifinals of the Main Singles Draw, led by sophomore No. 1 seed Jonathan Jemison who opened with a 6-3, 6-1, triumph over RJ Clement of Methodist before winning over freshman teammate Hassan Kenawi in the quarterfinals.  Jemison will tangle with Eagle freshman Rex Serituk, who toppled JD Telles of North Carolina Wesleyan, 6-4, 6-0, before getting by sophomore teammate Adrien Bouchet in the quarterfinals.  In the bottom half of the draw, senior Aman Manji, the No. 3 seed, will clash with No. 2 seed Avery Schober of Sewanee in the semis.  Manji earned a Round of 16 win over Andres Carro of of Sewanee, and followed that with a 6-1, 6-1, verdict over Emory senior Josh Goodman.

In the Main Doubles Draw, the No. 1 seeded team of junior Scott Rubinstein and James Spaulding have advanced to the semifinals where they will square off against Alejandro Centurion and Davis Plummer of Millsaps.  Junior David Omsky and Jemison are in the semis and will meet teammates Manji and Serituk.
