Emory Defeats Washington & Lee, 5-0

Playing its first home match in over three weeks, the Emory men's tennis team posted a Tuesday afternoon victory over Washington & Lee University. The No. 2-ranked Eagles won for the sixth straight time and raised their overall record to 14-4 following a 5-0 outcome over the 26th-ranked Generals who slipped to 12-6.

Emory took command of the match after claiming all three doubles matches. At No. 1, junior Scott Rubinstein and sophomore James Spaulding got things started with a decisive 8-1 decision over Will Bannister and Zack Ely for their 11th victory this spring in 18 decisions. At third doubles, junior David Omskyand sophomore Jonathan Jemison raised their spring slate to 9-4 after bettering Mac Zheng and Thomas Harmon. Junior Max Renke and sophomore Adrien Bouchet closed out the sweep with an exciting 9-7 come-from-behind decision over Jordan Krasner and Mitchell Thomas at No. 2, upping their spring record to 12-5.

Two singles matches were played before the conclusion of the match. Senior Aman Manji notched a 6-2, 6-1 triumph over Krasner at No. 1, improving his spring record to 14-4, while Jemison topped Bannister, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2, also improving his ledger to 14-4.
