In doubles play, the Violets (2-1) picked up wins from freshman Michael Li and sophomore Benedict Teoh at #2 and senior Matt DeMichiel and junior Samuel Khoshbin at #3.

At #1 singles, senior Umberto Setter defeated Michael Arguello 6-1, 6-2. After losses in the next two singles matches, the Violets picked up wins at #4-6 from Li, freshman Vishal Walia and sophomore Yanik Parsch, to clinch the match.

"This was a big win for us," said NYU Head Coach Horace Choy. "We came out well in the doubles matches and continued that into singles play."

OTHER NOTABLES:

- Setter and freshman Zeb Zheng fell 9-8 (6) to Arguello and Brian Granoff at #1 doubles.
