The New York University men's tennis team defeated Colby College 5-4 on Sunday, Match 12, at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx.

The Violets (3-1) began the afternoon by going 2-1 in doubles play. Sophomore Benedict Teoh and freshman Michael Li defeated Shaw Speer and Cam Hillier 8-6 in #2 doubles, and senior Matt DeMichiel and freshman Xavier Pacthod beat Scott Altmeyer and Zale Shah 8-6 in #3 doubles.

In singles play, NYU earned wins in #3-5 singles from Li, DemIchiel, and freshman Vishal Walia, respectively, to secure the close victory.

"We were able to guard against a letdown from the win against Brandeis," said NYU Head Coach Horace Choy. "Colby is a good team, and this is a solid win."
