The New York University men's tennis team opened its spring season with a 6-3 win over Haverford College on Saturday, February 25, in Haverford, PA.

In doubles play, the Violets won two matches with senior Umberto Setter and freshman Zeb Zheng picking up an 8-6 victory in #1 doubles, and junior Samuel Khoshbin and freshman Michael Li picking up an 8-7 win in #2 doubles.

In singles play, NYU earned wins from sophomore Benedict Teoh (6-2, 6-1), Setter (6-2, 6-0) and senior Matt DeMichiel (6-3, 6-1), respectively, in #1-3 singles, and a win from sophomore Yanik Parsch (6-2, 7-5) in #6 singles.

"It's good to get the first win out of the way," said NYU Head Coach Horace Choy. "Play was a little uneven as can be expected from a first match, but when it counted, we came through."
