NYU Completes Play at TCNJ

The New York University men's tennis completed its second and final day of play at the Lions' Kickoff Tournament held at The College of New Jersey on Saturday, September 10, in Ewing, NJ.

The Violets posted a 4-8 record on Saturday, and finished the weekend with an overall record of 9-11.

NYU was led by senior Umberto Setter, who went 2-0 on the day. The Bedano, Switzerland native first defeated TCNJ's Thomas Wright 6-1, 6-1, and later defeated Matt Puig 6-2, 6-0.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS:

- Senior Matt DeMichiel and freshman Michael Li picked up the final two wins for the Violets on Saturday. Li finished the weekend at a perfect 3-0, while DeMichiel finished with a 2-1 record.

- Junior Ian Combemale played in two competitive matches, but ultimately lost both in three sets.

"I liked the determination and fighting spirit of the team today," said NYU Head Coach Horace Choy.
