Bears Hold On Against Carnegie Mellon in ITA Indoor Third Place Match

The No. 4-ranked Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team swept doubles play and held on for a 5-4 win over No. 7 Carnegie Mellon University in the third-place match of the 2017 ITA Division III National Team Indoor Championship Sunday at Cleveland Racquet Club in Pepper Pike, Ohio.

With the match tied at 4-4, freshman Robin Engel posted a 6-1, 6-2 straight-set victory over CMU senior Kunal Wadwani.

WashU improved to 3-2 with the win, while Carnegie Mellon dropped to 6-6.
