Bears Open With Strong Performance at ITA Regional

The Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team has six remaining in the singles draw and three teams in the doubles draw after day one of the 2016 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regional held at Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Junior Shaun Berman and sophomore Radha Vishnubhotla each posted upset victories over the No. 17 seed en route to their appearance in the round of 16. Also remaining for WashU is No. 4 seed senior John Carswell, sophomore Konrad Kozlowski, freshman Bernardo Neves and No. 7 seed junior Johnny Wu.

In doubles, Neves and Wu teamed up to knock out the No. 4 seed in the opening round. Junior Jason Haugen and Kozlowski, the No. 9 seed, and senior Jeremy Bush and freshman J.J. Kroot also advanced to the round of 16.
