Emory University senior Scott Rubinstein and junior James Spaulding closed out their 2017-18 seasons with a runner-up finish at the NCAA D-III Men's Doubles Championships. The Championships were held at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, California.

The unseeded Emory tandem opened play on Saturday with a 6-3, 6-2, win over the University of Chicago's Tyler Raclin and Jeremy Yuan. The win propelled them into the title match against the No. 1-seeded duo of Lubomir Cuba and Kyle Schlanger from Middlebury, with the Panthers' team prevailing, 6-0, 6-2.  Rubinstein and Spaulding were attempting to become just the second doubles team in school history to win the national crown in doubles.

Rubinstein and Spaulding captured All-America status for the third straight year and registered an overall doubles ledger of 23-13.  Career-wise, Rubinstein finished with 76 doubles wins, good for eighth place on the program's all-time chart.
