The Emory men's tennis doubles team of Scott Rubinstein and junior James Spaulding played their way to the doubles title on Sunday at the Grizzly Open in nearby Lawrenceville. Hosting the three-day competition was Georgia Gwinnett College.

In their first match of the day, the Emory tandem defeated Point College's Samuel Blackburn and Federico Barbon in the semifinals, 8-6. In the championship showdown, Rubinstein and Spaulding topped Sergio Vallinotti of Georgia Gwinnett and the unattached Aved Zatar, 8-5.

In singles play, freshman Hayden Cassone came up short in his effort to land the singles crown, as Zatar registered a 6-2, 6-3 victory.
