From Emory University Athletics

The Emory men's tennis program will bring home the ITA South Region singles and doubles championships with the Eagles claiming all the finals positions following the second day of action at the event.  The ITA South Region Championships are being held at the Rome Tennis Center and hosted by Berry College.

Emory cane through with another dominant performance on Saturday, sending four of its representatives into the singles semifinals that will be played on Sunday.  No. 1 seed Jonathan Jemison defeated Jack Gray of Sewanee, 6-4, 6-3 in the Round of 16 before topping freshman teammate Will Wanner in a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 decision.  Jemison will meet freshman Hayden Cassone in the semis following Cassone's triumphs over JD Telles of North Carolina Wesleyan in the Round of 16, followed by a 6-0, 6-2, victory over Methodist University's RJ Clement in the quarters, 6-0, 6-2. Junior James Spaulding defeated a pair of teammates as he moved into Sunday, battling to a 6-7, 6-3, 6-2, outcome over Alec Josepher in his first match, followed by a 6-1, 6-3 verdict over junior Adrien Bouchet. Spaulding will square off against sophomore Rex Serituk who continued his impressive run that saw him topple No. 2 seed, Sebastian Sikh of NC Wesleyan, 6-2, 7-5, and Jacob Weinacker, 6-1, 6-4, in the quarterfinals.

In doubles, Bouchet and Wanner will contend for the title after besting teammates Max Renke and David Omsky, followed by an 8-2 win over the No. 1 seeded tandem of Spaulding and senior Scott Rubinstein.  Bouchet and Wanner will clash with the duo of Jemison and Cassone after their victories against Millsaps' Davis Plummer and Alejandro Centurion (8-3) and NC Wesleyan's team of Sikh and Aditya Iyer (8-5).
