The New York University men's tennis team hosted Vassar College and defeated the Brewers 8-1 on Sunday, February 25, at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx.

The Violets are now 2-0 this season, while Vassar is 5-3.

In doubles play, the Violets took two out of three matches from Vassar behind wins from Michael Li and Joshua Piatos (8-1) in #2 doubles, and Rahul Das and Vishal Walia (9-8) in #3 doubles.

"Today we had a bit of a slow start, but we managed to bring good energy to the end of doubles and into singles," said Assistant Coach Ben Lee.

NYU swept all six singles matches. Umberto Setter (6-1, 6-1) in #1 singles, Das (6-4, 6-4) in #2 singles, Li (6-0, 6-2) in #3 singles, Walia (6-2, 6-3) in #4 singles, Yanik Parsch (6-1, 6-1) in #5 singles, and Stefan Rodic (6-3, 6-2) in #6 singles all recorded victories.

"I think we have some good momentum to bring into next week's matches," concluded Lee.
