Senior Jason Haugen and junior Konrad Kozlowski advanced to the championship match in doubles to highlight play at the 2017 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regional held Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Mich. 

Haugen and Kozlowski, the No. 2 seed in the 64-team draw, suffered a 4-6, 7-5, 10-8 loss to Tyler Raclin and Jeremy Yuan of the University of Chicago in the championship match.

Freshmen Daniel Li and Koki Takabatake also made a run to the quarterfinals in doubles as an unseeded team. The duo upset No. 9 seed Parrado/Ray from Kalamazoo College 8-1 in the Round of 32.

In singles, sophomore J.J. Kroot and freshman Benjamin van der Sman advanced to the round of 16. Kroot, the No. 17 seed, upset No. 9 seed Mitchell Thai of Denison 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the round of 32. van de Sman cruised past No. 5 seed Sam Totten of Augustana (Ill.) 6-1, 6-3, in the round of 32.

Sophomore Bernardo Neves and junior Radha Vishnubhotla rebounded from a first-round loss in doubles to advance to the back draw finals with four wins. The championship match was abandoned.

Neves, the No. 9 seed in singles, advanced to the championship match in the back draw before falling to No. 17 seed Luke Tsai of Chicago in three sets. Neves posted a 9-3 combined record at the three-day event.
