Washington University Has Four Named ITA All-Americans

Washington University in St. Louis had four student-athletes named to the 2018 Division III Men's Tennis All-America Team, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). 

This marks the first time in school history WashU had four student-athletes selected as All-Americans, and the fifth time four citations were awarded. 

Sophomore Bernardo Neves and senior Johnny Wu picked up All-America honors in singles, while senior Jason Haugen and junior Konrad Kozlowski were All-America selections in doubles. All four earned All-America honors for the first time in their career.

Neves was 29-5 in singles and was named the ITA National Player to Watch. He recorded a 51-16 overall record, and was a first-team all-University Athletic Association (UAA) selection at No. 2 singles. He finished the season ranked No. 21 in the ITA Singles Ranking and advanced to the quarterfinals in the NCAA Singles Championship.

Wu closed out his career at WashU with an appearance in the NCAA singles championship for the second-consecutive year. A first-team all-UAA selection at No. 1 singles, he was 18-10 in singles and finished the year ranked No. 12. Wu recorded a 28-15 overall record in 2017-18, and concludes his four-year career with 99 wins.

Haugen and Kozlowski, a first team all-UAA selection at No. 1 doubles, finished the season with a 19-6 overall record. The pair won its opening round match at the NCAA Division III Championship before falling in the quarterfinals. The duo ended the season ranked No. 10 in the ITA Doubles Rankings.

WashU posted a 17-9 overall record in 2017-18 and finished the season ranked No. 9 in the ITA rankings. The Bears advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the 12th-straight season.
