The University of Chicago men's tennis team captured its first doubles victory of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Cup on Friday afternoon.
Junior Tyler Raclin and sophomore Jeremy Yuan are taking part in the ITA Cup for the second-straight year as a doubles tandem. The ITA Cup includes all eight ITA Regional singles and doubles champions in bracket format.
After losing their opening round on Thursday, Raclin and Yuan bounced back in the consolation semifinals. The No. 2-seeded UChicago duo rallied to beat the No. 3 seeds from Trinity University (Texas) by scores of 3-6, 6-4, 10-8.
The Maroons advance to the fifth-place match, where they will next take on the No. 1 seeds from Carnegie Mellon University.
