For the third-consecutive season, senior Bernardo Neves of the Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team was named to the 2020 NCAA Division III Academic All-District At-Large Team, as announced Friday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

"We are going to miss Bernardo's consistent and unselfish leadership he provided for four straight years on the Danforth campus as a varsity men's tennis WashU Scholar-Champion," said WashU head coach Roger Follmer.

Neves, an All-University Athletic Association (UAA) selection, compiled a 14-17 overall record while playing No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles in 2019-20. He finished the season ranked No. 36 nationally in singles.

Neves concludes his four-year career ranked seventh in school history in wins (157), and is also sixth in singles (81) and 10th in doubles victories (76). He earned All-America honors in singles in 2018 and in both singles and doubles in 2019.

A three-time Academic All-District and Academic All-UAA selection, Neves has a 3.99 grade point average while majoring in mechanical engineering.

To be eligible for nomination to the Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA, and must be a starter or an important reserve.

Neves is eligible to be selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, announced June 17. He was a CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-America selection in 2018 and 2019.
