The University of Chicago men's track and field team took fourth place at day two of the 2014 University Athletic Association (UAA) Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday.
On the men's side, Washington-St. Louis won with 215 points. The Bears were followed by Carnegie Mellon (166), Emory (141.5), UChicago (114.5), NYU (88.5), Case Western Reserve (63) and Brandeis (27.5).
The Maroons scored a boatload of team points when they took three of the top four spots in the 5,000 meters. Fresh off his 10,000-meter victory the previous night, senior Daniel Povitsky dug deep once again and beat the field in a time of 14:58.41. Freshman Gareth Jones took third in the race in 15:01.01.
Junior jumper Semi Ajibola lept over the competition in the high jump and won the title with a height of 1.94 meters.
Additionally, the 4x100-meter relay picked up All-UAA status. Freshman Temisan Osowa, sophomore Jacob Romeo, sophomore Ben Clark and sophomore Zachary Jenkins combined to take third in 42.40.
